In a game postponed to Monday due to bad weather, the world number one won after two sets and one hour and 36 minutes of play, 6-3, 6-4.

If in the previous two games in Rome he lost only two games of four sets, this time Svyatek had to work harder.

The first set was controlled by the Pole, who led 4-1 and easily won, but in the second set Vekic led from the start and kept the pace until 4-4.

In the quarterfinals, Iga Svyatek will meet with Olena Rybakina (6 WTA), and they are the only favorites from the top ten of the competition.
