Prosecution for manslaughter with possible intent was opened on Sunday by prosecutors against two brothers accused of Saturday’s murder of a 52-year-old funeral home owner in Naples Thessaloniki.
Two defendants, aged 40 and 42, originally from Armenia, were sent for an apology to the investigator, from whom they were given until Tuesday and they remain in custody.
The episode appears to have started when the brothers got into a fight with the victim over feeding stray animals outside of his business. However, it appears from the testimony that in the recent past there were fights between them, as the defendants reacted to the work of a funeral home in the area.
As one conversation dragged on after another, the perpetrators attacked a 52-year-old man on Saturday morning, violently attacking him, causing him to die while being transported to an emergency hospital.
It is expected that “light” on the cause of death will be shed by a forensic medical examination, which is scheduled for Monday.
The defendants, according to the information, testified at the preliminary investigation that they did not intend to take the life of the 52-year-old, while indicating that when they left the scene of the attack, the victim was on his feet, conscious and in contact with the environment. They intend to appoint a technical consultant to participate in the forensic examination.
