His last Champions League 2023 will be held in Istanbul, as highlighted today (12/5) in a statement UEFAfollowing reports that he was considering “postponing” the game due to political unrest.
“UEFA would like to clarify its position on the 2023 Champions League final.“The 2023 UEFA Champions League Final will take place in Istanbul as scheduled on 10 June 2023. UEFA does not engage in discussions to the contrary with political institutions, governments or national football associations.”
Istanbul hosts this year’s final in the top club competition, having “missed out” the 2020 Champions League final when it was moved to Lisbon and the Final-8 tournament was held during the Covid-19 pandemic.
