Today, it is difficult to navigate the range from Honda, between the models presented for the United States and then those that will then arrive in Europe, but not necessarily with the same specifications.
The Honda ZR-V was not necessarily immediately planned for the French market. Finally, it will be launched in France next fall and will be positioned between the HR-V and CR-V.
Quite a classic recipe
This new compact SUV shares many technical elements with the latest Civic. The ZR-V generally shows quite classic lines and is distinguished by its front end with a rather thin grille compared to recent car productions and a more dynamic rear end that generally resembles the second generation Toyota RAV4, especially in terms of optics. .
At 4.57 meters long, the ZR-V sits between the urban SUV HR-V (4.34 meters) and the new CR-V (4.70 meters).
The passenger cabin is not a model of originality, but it is modern and quite ergonomic, with a refined instrument panel and a 9-inch multimedia screen, accompanied by a digital instrument system based on a 10.2-inch screen. A good point in terms of ergonomics: the air conditioner controls are physical. Honda did not succumb to tactile fashion at all.
Thanks to the wheelbase of 2.65 meters, there is plenty of room in the rear seats, especially for the knees. On the other hand, with the volume of the trunk everything 380 litersthat’s quite a bit for a C-segment SUV, even if in the world of hybrids the Peugeot 3008 isn’t much better with a claimed 395 liters versus the 520 of its temp counterpart.
Only in the hybrid version
As for the engine, there will be no choice. The Honda ZR-V will only be offered as a hybrid with a 2.0-liter direct-injection four-cylinder engine that uses the Atkinson cycle. 184 hp and a torque of 315 Nm.
This is the same engine as the new Honda Civic. This is given for CO emissions2 130 g/km and an average consumption of 5.7 l/100 km according to the WLTP cycle.
Prices have not yet been announced, but sales will begin at the beginning of the next academic year. However, we imagine the base price to be slightly modified less than 40,000 euros.
