
Baden-Württemberg police said a shooting at the Mercedes plant in Sindelfingen, near Stuttgart, killed one person and seriously injured another. The perpetrator is arrested.
According to the local newspaper Stuttgarter Zeitung, the police arrived at 7:45 am. Emergency calls local time due to gunshots at the German automaker’s Plant 56, which produces the S-Class model.
Reinforced police forces, rescuers and two helicopters arrived at the scene.
“One person was killed and another seriously injured. The circumstances remain unclear. The perpetrator has been arrested and the situation is under control. There is no more danger to the population,” the police wrote on Twitter.

Mercedes confirmed the incident at the factory and contacted the authorities without giving details.
“We are in contact with the authorities and are trying to find out the facts. Employee safety is paramount,” the company said in a statement.
