Her king Salman Saudi Arabia invited the Syrian president, Bashar al-Assadat the upcoming Arab summit expected to take place on May 19 in Saudi Arabia, the Syrian chairman announced today.
This ad appeared a day after The Arab League returned Syria to its fold, from which it was excluded in 2011 after a popular uprising that turned into a civil war.
The head of state “received an invitation from King Salman” to attend this year’s annual meeting in Jeddah, western Saudi Arabia, the Syrian president said in a statement.
“Holding the upcoming summit in Saudi Arabia will strengthen joint Arab action,” the Syrian president said. The invitation was conveyed by Saudi Ambassador to Jordan Najef al-Sudairi.
