It’s been a long time since we’ve seen a real novelty from Seat. And for good reasons, the Spanish firm now seems to be in a stagnant phase, and this may continue. A few weeks ago, his boss even explained that he does not plan to release a new electric model in the line. The fact that from 2035 the European Union will ban the sale of new diesel locomotives on its territory is a little worrying. So the manufacturer will have to act if it wants to survive in the next few years. But does he really want it? Nothing is less certain.

The end of an era
Indeed, it would seem that the manufacturer is not really that motivated to sell cars anymore. 70 years after the debut, The saddle could even turn the page and cease to be present in the automotive landscape. In any case, that’s according to a recent statement from a brand representative to our British colleagues at Autocar. The latter claims that management analyzed what role Seat will play in the future ”and in particular, when heat engines will “run out”. The manufacturer plans to continue selling internal combustion and thermal cars until 2030. After ? This is a big question…
A new twist
Because for now the manufacturer is in the shadow of Cupra, which offers a more modern catalog and which is doing much better. For its part, Seat is content with its historical and rather old models, such as Ibiza, Arona or even Ateca and Tarraco. And currently nothing new is planned. The firm could then focus on other forms of mobility, such as scooters or electric scooters. But nothing is certain yet. We should know more a little later.
