“Pravda” pretends to “forget” the previous position of the Kremlin regarding Victory Day
Earlier last week, the Kremlin announced that only the president of the former Soviet republic of Kyrgyzstan will be present at the celebrations on the occasion of the 78th anniversary of the victory of the Soviet Union in the Second World War, since he will be in Moscow on a business visit anyway.
“There were no special invitations this year,” Kremlin spokesman Dmytro Peskov said last Monday, explaining the absence of foreign heads of state by the fact that there will be no important anniversaries this year.
But a day ago, the Kremlin pressured the heads of allied states to come to Moscow, while Peskov drew attention to the “special significance” of Victory Day for all those involved in the “victory over fascism” in the Great Patriotic War.
“We have no right to forget May 9. May 9 is a holy day for all states that were once part of the Soviet Union, states that gave so many lives of their citizens to rid the world of fascism,” he said.

In another article in November, Pravda.ru gleefully noted that Ukraine is on the verge of freezing and “total darkness” after repeated attacks on the country’s energy infrastructure.
However, as it later turned out, Russian missile attacks and kamikaze drones failed to disable Ukraine’s energy system.
