The Ministry of Defense of Ukraine on Sunday ridiculed the Russian military for bombing an old plane turned into a monument in a city in the Kharkiv region.
“The NATO plane was shot down by the Russians. The bombardment destroyed the former Aero L-29 Delfin (Maya) aircraft manufactured in Czechoslovakia, installed on a pedestal in Vovchansk, Kharkiv region,” the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine said in a message on Twitter.
“From the point of view of the Kremlin, this was an important, strategically significant target,” the Ukrainian Ministry of Defense added, publishing images of the plane before and after the Russian strike.
