For unknown reasons, a 15-year-old student from a school in Athens, having fun with classmates, who was in the city of Trikala as part of an excursion, suddenly lost consciousness.

He was taken by EKAV ambulance to the Trikala hospital, where, despite the efforts of doctors and medical staff, he died early in the morning, said the head of the Trikala hospital Konstantinos Grigoriou.

An autopsy is expected to provide answers to the cause of death.

“The tragic loss of a student in Trikala fills us with sadness and pain. I contacted her parents, the principal of the school and the guide. Sincere condolences to her family and friends. There are no words of consolation when a young man is lost,” Niki Kerameos wrote in her post about the girl’s death.
