The Adrian Mutu-coached side have big plans for the next Super League season as they aim for the title after a gap of more than 20 years. The Rapid announced the first deal for the upcoming championship on Friday.

Christy Sepunaru extended his contract with Rapid Bucharest.

After announcing that they plan to strengthen the team with 5-6 players to fight for the title next season, the management of “Rapid” began to extend the contracts of the current players of the team.

Captain Christy Sepunarul was the first to initial the new commitment until 2024.

“I am very happy to play another year in the shirt of Rapida, a club I love, and especially in front of the most beautiful fans in Romania. I hope that together we will bring Rapidul to the vanguard of Romanian football, where it belongs,” the 39-year-old football player told the club’s official page.

The former player arrived in 2021 after Giulio’s side were promoted to the Super League, his fourth stint with Rapida, who he played for in 2006-2008, 2010 and 2015.

A number of players are coming to the end of their contracts with Rapid this summer, with Dragos Grigore, Junior Morais and Virgil Dragia all likely to sign extensions.

If Damien Dussaut and Younes Bnow Marzouk are certain that they will not continue, the future is uncertain for Claudio Bela, Ljuban Crepulia and Kevin Lucassen.
