The cross-party committee, which met at noon, did not grant the request of the journalists who will participate to provide a free question instead of a section of the final statement for each of the 6 political leaders.

The “new generation” leaves the field somewhat freer to ask questions of a more general nature, representatives of the party noted during a two-hour meeting.

In accordance with what has been determined, questions will be asked to the political leaders in the order of the parliamentary strength of the parties, and then the direction of the clock will be traced.

Thus, in the first section questions will be started by Mr. Kyriakos Mitsotakis, in the 2nd section by Mr. Alexis Tsipras, in the 3rd section by Mr. Nikos Androulakis Kok.

It was suggested by New Democracy that the questions should be asked more randomly, but this proposal was not accepted. Each journalist will have 30 seconds to ask their question, which the political leader they are addressing will have to answer within 1.5 minutes.

The journalist may return to the same question with a 15-second question, while the political leader’s answer to his second question must not exceed 45 seconds. At the end of the debate, each political leader will have 3 minutes to make their final statement.

It will be hosted by ERT journalist Giorgos Kouvaras and will feature the following journalists: Mara Zaharia (Star), Sia Kosioni (SKAI), Giorgos Papadakis (ANT1), Antonis Schroiter (Alpha), Panagiotis Stathis (Open), Rania Cima (Mega ). Participants will meet to determine the details of how they will ask questions.

New extended meeting

The inter-party committee is expected to meet again next week in an enlarged format. Representatives of parties whose participation in the elections was approved by the Supreme Court will be added to the already existing representatives of parliamentary parties. A necessary condition for participation in inter-party, parties must have candidates in 70% of the territory, in this case representatives of ANT.AR are added to the composition.
