Yevgeny Prigozhin, who on Friday announced the withdrawal of the “Wagner” mercenaries from Bakhmut in a rage, returns with a warning to Russian Defense Minister Sergei Shoigu and the head of the Russian General Staff Valery Gerasimov. according to Reuters.
In a new video published by his press service, the founder of Wagner’s mercenary company warned that the responsibility for “tens of thousands of Wagner’s dead and wounded” should be borne by the Minister of Defense of the Russian Federation Serhiy Shoigu and the Chief of the General Staff of the Russian Federation Valery Gerasimov.
- “I will make sure of it,” said Yevgeny Prigozhin, quoted by Reuters.
“Blood is still fresh”
Also on Friday, Prigozhin filmed himself next to dozens of corpses of his soldiers, criticizing the Russian military leadership more than ever for the fact that it lacks ammunition.

In a particularly brutal video, in which the bodies of dozens of dead mercenaries are visible, Prigozhin without any plan attacked the leaders of the Moscow army, his monologue is sprinkled with a lot of abuse and obscene words:
- “These are the guys from Wagner who died today. The blood is still fresh. (to whoever is holding the camera) Shoot them all!
- Now listen to me, you damn whores. They are father and son. And these dragonflies who don’t give us ammunition will eat their guts in hell.
- We are 70% out of ammunition! Shoigu, Gerasimov! Where are the ammunition! Look at them (points to the corpses).
- You scum sit in expensive clubs. Your kids live their lives making videos for Youtube.
- You think that you are the masters of this life and that you have the right to control us. You think if you have a stockpile of ammunition you have the right to it.
- Calculations are simple, if there is ammunition, then we have five times less (points to the dead behind him). They volunteered and are dying for you to escape, in your redwood offices. Think about it!”.
Later, in a sudden and dramatic announcement, he said his forces would withdraw from the Ukrainian city of Bakhmut, which he had been trying to capture since last summer.
“On behalf of the Wagner fighters, on behalf of the Wagner command, I declare that from May 10, 2023, we are obliged to hand over the positions of the settlement of Bakhmut to the units of the Ministry of Defense and take the remnants of the Wagner to the logistics camps to lick our wounds,” Prigozhin said in a press release.
