Like all manufacturers, BMW will also have to transform deeply to go fully electric. The decision made by the European Union, which decided to strictly prohibit the sale of thermal cars from 2035. Which is obviously not liked by all brands, as well as by motorists. But the decision has already been made, and there are no plans to roll back. Therefore, manufacturers will have to adapt, even if some of them are already quite advanced in this field. This is exactly the case with BMW, which already has a fairly well-stocked range, with its i4, i7, iX and other iX1 and iX3, among others. But it is not finished.

New sedan
Indeed, the German manufacturer does not plan to stop there and is preparing to release other models to enrich its catalog. Among them is an electric version of the 5 Series, which will apparently take the name i5. While we’ve been hearing about it for a while now, we still know very little about it. However, now the journalists of the German site Mobiflip seem quite well informed. Indeed, the latter inform us that the electric sedan will be officially presented May 24. Only a few days to find out everything about this newcomer, which will be available in several versions.
Full assortment
Indeed, our German colleagues explain to us that two variants will be offered at launch, which will be called the i5 eDrive40 and the i5 M60. But there are also rumors that another version is in the works, treated by the M branch. At the moment, we do not yet know the technical features of the sedan, which could offer a very large range to compete with the Mercedes EQE, in particular. Note thatestate version will also be on the cards, but will have to wait before learning a bit more about the subject.
