Ukraine has seized more than $280 million worth of assets of an exiled billionaire, the country’s security service said, Sky News reported.
Vadym Vovinskyi was expelled on allegations that he helped Russia in its war against Ukraine, a claim he denies.
This is the second time this year that security forces have announced the seizure of his assets, with assets worth about $96 million seized in April.
In December, Kyiv imposed sanctions on Novinsky, along with several leaders of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church, a minority church accused of maintaining deep ties to Russia.
The billionaire is a known supporter of the church, which says it severed all ties with Russia last year and is the victim of a political vendetta.
