On Tuesday evening (February 5), a Bulgarian man was handcuffed by police in Chania as the 34-year-old is accused of assaulting his 19-year-old partner, who is five months pregnant.

In particular, according to the report, the man allegedly hit a 19-year-old girl on the head with a glass bottle. The 34-year-old man was detained around 21:00 at night and is expected to be taken to the prosecutor’s office.

It should be noted that cases of domestic violence have increased significantly in recent years. And a few days ago, on Sunday, April 23, a similar incident occurred in Heraklion, Crete. in the house where the mother and daughter live, aged 37 and 16, respectively. The estranged husband of a 37-year-old Iraqi woman was found there, where, under unclear circumstances, he allegedly threatened them, insulted them, and then, according to police, took out a knife, which he stabbed and lightly wounded the right hand of his former partner.

The mother and daughter reported the incident and the 44-year-old man to the police. The man has been detained, charged with domestic violence and arms trafficking, and will be taken to the prosecutor’s office.

As the mother and daughter told the police, it is not the first time they meet the violent face of a 44-year-old man, but in the past his ex-wife, according to the complaint, was subjected to physical violence from him.
