In Russian-occupied Mariupol, five trucks with S-300 missile systems were spotted, which were headed for Ukraine-controlled Zaporizhzhia, Mariupol Mayor Petro Andryushchenko wrote in Telegram on Tuesday.

S-300 are Soviet missile systems designed for air defense. However, Russia used refurbished S-300s to strike targets in Ukraine, the Kyiv Independent reports.

According to Andryushchenko, attacks by S-300 systems usually repeatedly hit populated areas of the city of Zaporizhzhia, urging residents not to ignore warnings from the air.

Two Russian rockets hit a private house in Zaporizhzhia on April 9, Acting Mayor Anatoly Kurtiev reported on Telegram.

Since the beginning of the full-scale invasion, the city has been under frequent attacks.

In the fall, Russia announced the annexation of Zaporizhzhia Oblast, as well as Kherson, Donetsk, and Luhansk Oblasts.

However, only part of the Zaporizhzhia region is under Russian occupation.
