Romania’s women’s national football team will be drawn in Group B of League B of the Nations League according to the draw that took place on Tuesday in Nyon. Matches with Finland, Slovakia and Croatia await the “tricolor”.

Know:

  • 51 teams took part in the draw, which were divided into three nominal pots (two of 16 teams each and another of 19), based on the positions in the UEFA coefficient rating.
  • The matches will be played in a round-robin format, with the winners of the A League groups advancing to the final Nations League tournament in 2024.
  • The top two groups in League A remain in this league for the upcoming EURO 2025 qualifiers.
  • The four 3rd-placed teams will play in a play-off against the 2nd-placed teams in League B groups, with the winners advancing to League A. The bottom four teams in League A groups will be relegated.
  • The top 4 group winners from League B will qualify. The top 3 3rd placers will play in a playoff against the top 2nd placers in League C. The winners will advance to League B.
  • The bottom group finishers in League B, as well as the weakest 3rd place team, will be relegated to League C. The 5 group winners in League C will be promoted to League B.
  • The matches will take place in three international windows: 20-26 September 2023, 25-31 October 2023 and 29 November-5 December 2023. The final tournament and promotion/relegation playoffs will take place on February 21-28, 2024, writes Agerpres.
