“Half of Europe” is waiting for the restoration of relations with Russia that existed before the start of the war in Ukraine, Deputy Prime Minister of Poland Piotr Glinski accused on Tuesday in an extended interview with the Kurier Lubelski newspaper.

“Unfortunately, the threat of a return to these relationships still exists,” Glinsky said, accusing such ties of being “systematic” and “automatic.”

“After all, half of Europe is like that, wait,” he stressed during an interview in which he made numerous accusations against the opposition in Warsaw in the context of the parliamentary elections in Poland in November.

“There are very powerful groups in Europe who are mourning what just ended. They want, to quote the classics, to “save”. [lucrurile] as they were’. Their operation was based on interests with Russia,” he added.

“It should be very clear that these interest groups are jointly responsible for this war. For war crimes, murders and child trafficking. They are responsible for it. The most important interest of Poland is the protection of our statehood, which is threatened by the concept we are talking about, that is, the German-Russian rapprochement,” the Polish vice-prime minister also accused.

Glinskyi also noted that the Nord Stream project “was not built by chance, despite all the misfortunes, in an absolutely hypocritical atmosphere.”

Poland demands reparations from Germany and Russia

His comments came after another member of the Warsaw government, Marcin Przydacz, said in an interview with the Financial Times that Poland does not rule out the possibility of demanding compensation from Russia for the destruction and crimes during the Second World War, if any. reparations received from Germany.

“We think we can start a dialogue with Berlin, but with Putin there is a different civilization,” he explained.

However, a Polish official said that “if we succeed with Germany, the next step may be to start such a discussion with another oppressor.”
