Only a week after turning 20, Daniel learned that he had acute leukemia. This news fell like lightning on the young man, as well as on his family. Billions of unlived moments, thousands of unlived impressions, hundreds of unfulfilled dreams entered a thick field of fog for Daniel. However, the young man does not give up the fight. He is confident he will survive, although his life is now worth 100,000 euros – that’s how much the family has to pay for a bone marrow transplant and further treatment that could save him from death.

With the help of the Save a Heart association, Daniel has already started chemotherapy, but the road to recovery is long and expensive. At the moment, the boy and his mother are in a clinic in Turkey.

“I worked in Italy. We often talked on the phone about everything that happened to us. I knew that he was admitted to the hospital because of a bad cold with a temperature of 40 degrees and a headache. During the conversation, I noticed that the doctors were asking him all kinds of questions, and I felt that something was wrong. I asked to speak with the doctor on duty. I just heard this: Daniel’s tests turned out to be very bad and that he has acute leukemia. I could never put into words what I felt at that moment. Time actually stopped. I’m just stuck. I could no longer hear what the doctor kept explaining to me. I didn’t hear anything else, I just felt like I fell into a big whistle. After I hung up the phone, I burst into tears and asked God: Why Daniel? I have seen so many such cases on the Internet, but I never thought that something like this could happen to us,” said Lyudmila, Danyla’s mother, through tears.

I have to come back healthy, I can’t let people down

A woman raises 3 children alone. He divorced 13 years ago, and the children remained under his care. To cover expenses, the family had to go abroad to earn money. Children also went abroad after graduation. Daniel graduated from the auto mechanic school and worked for some time in Poland and France, but returned to the country because he felt at home here.

“Before he got sick, Daniel was a strong, hard-working boy who had a lot of friends. It is still strong today. Says to me every day: Keep calm, it’s healing! He’s afraid for me that I might go crazy, and I’m afraid for him. We don’t even use this word now cancer, we speak bad cells Many people support Danilo. He receives messages from friends, villagers, relatives, from other patients who have gone through it, from parents whose children are suffering from this disease, and they encourage him a lot. There are also good people who helped us and help us with donations, and Daniel always says: I must be healthy! I can’t help but come home healthy. I have to show people that I fought and won! I don’t want to let them down!”

However, the amount that Daniel needs is extremely large. The Spinu family cannot raise 100,000 euros only with the help of relatives and friends.

“I never asked anyone for anything, no matter how hard it was for me. But now we, as a family, are worried about the situation. After learning about Daniel’s critical situation, several acquaintances directed us to seek help from the “Save the Heart” Association, which has helped many families in our situation. This is how we finished with the opening of the fundraising campaign, and we are very grateful to the team coordinated by Vlad Plăcintă, but especially to the people who donate the little they have every day so that Daniel can live!
