
A Group Z policeman was shot dead with an air pistol at 11:40 am at the intersection of Vassilissis Olgas and Paraskevopoulos avenues while on the scene to control traffic during the 17th Alexander the Great International Marathon.
According to information, while the rules of the road were in effect, the police officer heard two loud noises, after which he felt a burn on his hand. Notify immediate action immediately. Employees of the Thessaloniki Security Department arrived at the scene. After searches over a wider area, two airgun bullets were found.
According to police, the officer was not seriously injured and did not need to be hospitalized. The case is being investigated by Tumba-Triandria security department.
