The Catalans moved away from their rival “Real” by 11 points and got one step closer to the title of the champion of Spain.

In the 83rd minute of the game, Xavi introduced Lamine Yamal, who made history by becoming the youngest debutant in the club’s history. At just 15 years and 290 days, the Iberian set a new record, surpassing Lionel Messi, who made his debut for Barcelona at the age of 17 years and 82 days.

Yamal came close to scoring on his debut, but the Andalusian’s goalkeeper was able to save the youngster’s shot.

Immediately after the match, the coach of Barcelona spoke about him only with words of praise, saying that he is a promising player.

“I told him to try something on the field and he did. This is special. He could have scored against Betis, but goalkeeper Rui Silva opposed it. He played confidently and showed what he is capable of. He is fearless and extremely talented. Some of his passes in the final third were very good.

It is difficult to find such a football player, he does not look 15 years old, he is very mature, ready to play and trains well. It could mark an era at this club.” Xavi said at the end of the game.
