
Two people were arrested yesterday morning at a shop in the Xirokrini area in Thessaloniki after her case police in the context of combating tobacco smuggling. This is a 69-year-old man and his 65-year-old wife.
The police, using the information, conducted a search in the store of a 65-year-old woman, where her husband worked, they found and seized 61 packs of cigarettes and 45 packs of tobacco, which did not have an excise tax tape, a pistol and a corresponding permit to possess the above weapons, in in relation to which, however, a violation of the conditions of its storage, 4 magazines and a case, 25 cartridges of various calibers, a banknote of dubious authenticity with a face value of (500) euros, 10 knives, daggers and knives of various sizes was established.
In addition, the identity card of another person, which was reported to have been lost in the past, and the amount of 15,000 euros as contraband.
They were individually prosecuted for violating the legislation on the Customs Code, violating the Law on Weapons, counterfeiting money and other means of payment, and embezzlement. The detainees will be taken to the prosecutor’s office.
