There are Chinese in Shanghai BYD unlined heavy! The manufacturer presented gull, a small electric city car at a great price and with respectable autonomy for this category. Do you see a future box?

there BYD Seagull it is a small compact device with a very small size. Chinese is long 3.78 meterswide 1.72 meters and high Fr 1.54 meters. She will definitely be comfortable in the city! From the technical side, a small car will be far from funny. With a 75 hp electric motor that delivers 135 Nm of torque, the Seagull is powered by an LFP Blade battery with two different capacities. Power to choose from 30 or 38.9 kW/h. With these batteries, autonomy is displayed accordingly 305 AND 405 km. Note that these figures are based on CLTC standards, a cycle in China that is slightly longer than the WLTP standard here. Fast charging of 30 or 40 kW allows you to charge from 30 to 80% in 30 minutes. Finally, the staff inside is quite large: 7-inch digital instruments and a multimedia system with an 11.1-inch rotating screen. A series of four airbags won’t beat safety either.

Indeed, the seagull sold here could be offered prices hover around… 10,000 euros ! At the current exchange rate, RMB 73,800 is roughly €9,640, with only the top of the range at RMB 89,800 exceeding this amount at €11,730.
Dacia Spring in the viewfinder?

And in particular to small electric city cars, which would be a direct target of a competitor from China. We think logically about Dacia Spring, the cheapest electric city car on the market. Offered from €20,800, at this price it is only offered with the 44 hp engine. (33 kW) and a battery with a capacity of 27.4 kWh, which provides a theoretical autonomy of 230 km according to the WLTP cycle. The Romanian manufacturer has problems with this…
