Anastasia Potapova knocked out Jacqueline Christian from WTA Madrid

The 23rd favorite to win the tournament in Madrid, Potapova (25th WTA) was eliminated by Jacqueline Christian after two hours and 11 minutes of play.

The Romanian, who is ranked 168th in the WTA rankings, played quite well in the first set, which she lost 7-5.

Jacqueline came back and played much better in the second set, which she won after 44 minutes (the Romanian dropped only three games).

It came to a decisive moment, where the case won, which ignited the mood in the WTA tournament (in the context of the war in Ukraine). Anastasia performed much better and took the fifth match point.
