Prime Minister Nicolae Chuke said on Thursday that the coalition was in discussions to hold some elections, saying more than 80% of citizens wanted “not to have so many elections”.
“There are discussions that we and the Social Democratic Party have started after the polls that we have asked and from which it is very clear and it is not difficult for anyone to understand that they will take four or five rounds of elections. at least six to seven months. We cannot afford to waste so much time in a year. So, thinking rationally about how we can combine some elections, while we don’t know which ones, and hold them in a time frame that doesn’t affect our executive activities, will be a very good decision. Citizens also want this. Citizens, by an overwhelming majority, more than 80%, want us not to have so many elections anymore,” Chuke said at a press conference after meeting PNL Gorj members, according to Agerpres.
Answering the question about appointments in the ministries in the future government, he is convinced that after the analysis in the NLP there will be people for appointment in the portfolio.
Asked if he was also considering technocrats, he said: “We’ll see.”
“In the future government, based on the analysis at the party level, we will submit candidates for each position separately. (…) We’ll see. If we don’t find the right people for the right positions in the party, we will turn to… But I am convinced, because I knew the National Liberal Party, that we will find people who know well what to do,” he told Nicolae Chuke.
