“My dear Harry, thank you for everything” – a message from Nana Muschouri to Belafonte.

She said goodbye with a Facebook post Nana Mushuri to him Harry Belafonte who died on Tuesday at the age of 96.

The internationally renowned performer collaborated with the African-American singer-songwriter and actor on the 1966 album An Evening with Belafonte/Muscouri.

The disc includes duets and solo songs such as “Walking On The Moon”, “If You Are Thirsty”, “My Moon”, “Irene” (“Peace”), etc.

Hours after the news of Belafonte’s death, Moushuri posted several photos of them on her Facebook account. In the caption, he wrote:

Harry Belafonte was a great singer, a great performer, a stage master and a great teacher to me.
He asked me to accompany him on tour in 1963, and for three years we toured the US and Canada, and in 1966 we made a great album together.

But besides the fact that he was an unsurpassed artist, the most important thing for him was the fight against racism and the fight for human rights.
The activist, along with Martin Luther King, provided inspiration to mankind in difficult times.

At the same time, he fought for children’s rights as a UNICEF Goodwill Ambassador.

My dear Harry, thank you for everything. May the good God sweetly accompany you, and as you say in your song

“The day comes and you want to go home…

kisses
