I wrote to you yesterday that there was frost between Belgrade and Athens, inversely proportional to the spring we are experiencing. Greece’s abstention (rather than a vote against) in voting on Kosovo’s request for admission to the Council of Europe prompted unfavorable comments from the Serbian foreign minister, the cancellation of the country’s prime minister’s presence at the planned event, but – as I know – also the cancellation of Serbian participation in military exercises. In particular, the Serbian special forces did not participate in the multinational exercise Orion-23 led by GEETHA and the Special Operations Command, which is being held simultaneously with the air force “Hinioh”. Although the Serbs declared their participation and, as usual, even took part in the preliminary meetings for planning the exercises.
Future herapetritis
There has been a lot of talk lately about Giorgos Gerapetritis’ next move, and most of the information wants him to be the favorite – as long as New Democracy is the government again – for the Foreign Office. However, a well-informed government source told the column that nothing should be taken for granted, recalling that Giorgos Herapetritis is a key figure in the Maximos mansion, implying that there is a possibility, however limited, that he will remain anonymous.
At the tomb of Elisaph
Nikos Androulakis, as part of his tour of Ioannina, visited the last residence of Moses Elisaf at the Jewish cemetery, leaving a flower on his grave. The PASOK President was accompanied by the wife of the deceased, with whom Mr. Androulakis had a warm conversation.
Same place, half the world
At exactly the same place where Kyriakos Mitsotakis spoke about a week ago, Alexis Tsipras spoke the night before in Chania, making it easier to compare the two gatherings. The new Democrats did not miss the opportunity, as the result was in favor of the ND, which had “almost twice as many people,” as they said, showing the relevant photos. In order for this to happen, Dora, who has been in the prefecture for about 20 days, had a hand in rallying the “blue” public and awakening the “soul of the dandy”, as Konstantinos Mitsotakis called it.
