
EL.AS officers proceeded to arrest a 37-year-old man from Albania. on Tuesday afternoon (April 25) in Corinth as the man is accused of looting churches for months.
In particular, the 37-year-old is accused of 11 counts of theft and attempted theft from churches in the wider Corinth area. As it became known, last Sunday the defendant tried to get through the window into the church in Corinth, but to no avail.
The man is accused of committing a total of six cases of theft and five cases of attempted theft in churches from July to April, where he removed, among other things, money from pews, crosses, golden icons and holy relics.
As a result, the car was confiscated from the 37-year-old, and he will be taken to the competent prosecutor’s office.
