Chinese President Xi Jinping I spoke on the phone today with the President of Ukraine, Vladimir Zelenskyfirst time since Russian invasion of Ukraine in February 2022.
Xi told Zelensky that China will send special envoys to Ukraine and that he would negotiate with all parties in search of peace, state media reported.
Xi, who has so far avoided condemning the Russian invasion of Ukraine, paid an official visit Russia last month. However, since February last year, he has been promoting China’s 12-point peace plan for Ukraine, which was met with reservations by the West but welcomed by Kiev.
