Russia has decided to expel 10 diplomats from the Norwegian embassy in Moscow, asking them to leave the country soon, the Foreign Ministry in Oslo said on Wednesday, Reuters reported.

The decision came after Norway announced on April 13 that it was expelling 15 Russian embassy employees who the Norwegian government said were intelligence operatives working under the cover of diplomatic posts.

“Our ambassador (…) was informed today by the Russian Ministry of Foreign Affairs that 10 of our diplomats in Moscow have been declared undesirable,” the Norwegian Ministry of Foreign Affairs said in a statement.

“The Russian authorities say that this is a reaction to Norway’s decision,” the Norwegian agency added.
