Countdown to the release of the second part “Dunebegan with director Denis Villeneuve and stars Timothée Salami and Zendaya talking about the continuation of the story on Tuesday at CinemaCon in Las Vegas.

During the event, attendees had the opportunity to watch a one-minute teaser that revealed everything that would be in the sequel.

“The first part is more of a contemplative film. The second, however, turns into a gripping epic war story. The script is tighter. We were filming in new locations,” Villeneuve said shortly before the release of the trailer, which did not appear online. “I didn’t want to feel like I was repeating myself. The scenery is new, like the whole production.” In addition, he said that while 40% of the first film was shot on the Imax system (cameras and high-definition technology), the sequel was 100% shot on it.

“In the first film, Paul is a student,” Salame said of the character he plays, Paul Atreides. “Now we’re watching him as a leader… he’s sort of the savior of the Fremen race.”

As reported by The Hollywood Reporter, the trailer was truly epic, with Paul riding a sandworm for the first time and getting ready to take on the infamous Fade Rauta Harkonnen (Austin Butler). Villeneuve described Butler’s character as a cross between an “Olympic fencing champion and a psychopathic serial killer”.

Also joining the cast are new actors such as Christopher Walken as the Emperor, Florence Pugh as Princess Irulan Corino, Lea Seydoux as Lady Margot and Sweila Yacoub as Sissakli.

Screen adaptation of the bestselling book by Frank Herbert, stars: Salame (Paul Atreides), Zendaya (Darling), Rebecca Ferguson (Lady Jessica Atreides), Javier Bardem (Stillgar), Josh Brolin (Gurney Halleck), Stellan Skarsgård (Baron Vladimir Harkonnen). ), Charlotte Rambling (Reverend Mother Guy Ellen Mohiam), etc.

The new film chronicles the journey of Paul Atreides as he reunites with the Fremen, waging a war of revenge against the conspirators who destroyed his family. Paul will try to prevent a terrible future that only he can foresee.

The film will premiere on November 3, 2023.
