Even if the mentality has changed a lot, the car is still a predominantly male universe. And this despite the arrival of many women in this sector, in very high positions, such as General Motors or DS Automobiles. Feminization plan
For this, the organization has several ideas and will bet on several initiatives to feminize this male universe. First of all, it will bet on its ambassadors, Sara Rumo and Cindy Guede, who are currently competing in the ADAC Open e-Rally Cup. A winning strategy according to Nicolas Deschaux, president of the FFSA, who claims that “ once you have a powerful ambassador, there is an automatic transition to the main practice“. The goal is to make young girls want to get into car racing. But this is not the only lever that will be activated.
Multiple actions
Indeed, the organization will also focus on communication and awareness. The FFSA has organized similar events in the past, such as taking the girls to the races to give them a behind-the-scenes look. Nicolas Dechaux explains that ” we are trying to find the right opportunity for women’s practice. The FFSA undertakes communication activities to separate non-male-only motorsport in all areas: supervisors, volunteers, race directors“. Let’s hope these actions pay off!
