Mykonos: Suspicions of warden’s suspicious transactions

Service Spotlight internal affairs are, according to fully confirmed information “K”, police officers serving in the department of Mykonos. A few days ago, internal affairs officers carried out a surprise search of the house of the police chief from Northern Greece, seconded to V. Mykonos. This police officer was allegedly responsible for its execution general building regulations on the island and, therefore, has the right to open and inspect newly erected buildings in Mykonos country and not only.

According to one version, immediately after taking office on April 11, the new AT commander. Mykonos carried out an internal audit. In the context of this process, it is possible that the warden was suspected of his suspicious connections with businessmen from Mykonos. An investigation by the Internal Affairs Service found about 20,000 euros in cash at his home, the origin of which is likely to require him to explain. Since there was information that the Chief of Police was in constant contact with the contractor on the island, law enforcement officials proceeded to seize his mobile phone to determine whether the Chief of Police had indeed engaged in suspicious collusion with the contractor and businessmen on the island. Some information they report that the text messages exchanged between the warden and the contractor were actually found on his mobile phone. From their content, it was even supposedly concluded that the uniform warned of upcoming checks, so as not to embarrass the businessmen with whom he maintained privileged relations. Other sources of information claim that the prosecutor’s decision to declassify the police chief’s mobile phone has not yet been issued, and therefore – at least officially – there is no clear and detailed picture of the content of his messages.

“We are halfway through the investigation. We are waiting for the results of the mobile phone test in the forensic laboratory.” – told “K” a competent official. with excellent knowledge of the research process. In addition to the chief constable, two or three police officers from the Mykonos department are at the center of the investigation, who are suspected of serving the interests of influential businessmen of the island. As shown by “K” in the leaflet of April 12, after several weeks of negotiations, Deputy Director of Police Nikos Bogatinis was appointed to the responsible post of head of security in Mykonos. He served for several years at AT Tumpas Triandrias in Thessaloniki, with information that he had expressed interest in being stationed on the island. He is described by his colleagues as an incorruptible officer, while the new leader of EL.AS, Lazaros Mavropoulos, originally from Northern Greece, is believed to have a personal opinion of him.
