The President of Ukraine, Volodymyr Zelenskyy, said that the energy sector is already preparing for the next winter season, he noted that in the Zhytomyr district, decisions were made to restore this sector after the Russian attacks, News reported. ro.

Zelensky said that he returned to Kyiv after a working visit to Zhytomyr.

“First, there was a visit by the Prime Minister of Estonia Kai Kallas. Negotiations and signing of the Joint Declaration. I am grateful to the Prime Minister and the entire Estonian people for their clear and unwavering support for our movement towards the European Union and NATO – the relevant points regarding the Alliance are included in the statement,” he said.

He added that issues related to defense were also discussed, considering that Estonia provided one of the fastest and largest types of assistance – artillery weapons, shells and anti-aircraft weapons. Decisions on arms and ammunition implemented by other partners in the European Union were also discussed.

“Zhytomyr was not chosen for our discussions by chance. In the Yitomyr region, a reconstruction project has been implemented, which puts Estonia in the first place – the first place in terms of the speed of implementation of the laid down. In the city of Ovruch, Yitomyr district, the reconstruction of a kindergarten should be completed by June 1 – with the assistance of Estonia. The project will be expanded. There are other reconstruction projects, and I am sure that we will all implement them,” Zelensky emphasized.

He recalled the meeting with students that took place at the Zhytomyr Polytechnic.

“It was a good discussion, full of energy. That is why we are fighting for all of Ukraine – so that our children, all Ukrainian students from all corners of the country, feel free, enjoy freedom, get an education and achieve their goals in life. And it will happen. Ukraine will defend its freedom,” said President Zelensky.

He added that he also held a coordination meeting with officials of the Zhytomyr region, where aspects related to security, economic and social situation were discussed.

“We made a decision, in particular, regarding the restoration of energy after the Russian attacks. We are already preparing the energy sector for next winter,” Zelenskyy said.

According to him, special attention was paid to the situation at the border, he thanked the border guard units.
