Gabriela Ruse advanced to the final round of qualifying for the WTA 1000 tournament in Madrid, defeating Isaline Bonaventure (No. 84 in the world) on Monday.

Gabriela Ruse beat Isaline Bonaventure at WTA Madrid

Ruse, who is ranked 158th in the world, defeated her opponent from Belgium (favorite 6 in the qualification) after two hours of play, the score 3-6, 6-3, 6-1.

For a place in the main draw of the Caja Magica competition, Gabriela will play a match with Frenchwoman Leolia Jeanjean (137 WTA).

By advancing to the final round of qualifying, Gabriela Ruse secured a prize of €8,265 and 20 points in the WTA singles rankings.
