Almost three out of four French people say they are unhappy with President Emmanuel Macron, according to an Ifop poll for the Journal du Dimanche newspaper, largely because of his pension reform.
According to this survey, only 26% of respondents answered that they were satisfied with the president of the country. This percentage is down two points from the previous month, but it is not the lowest figure to date. Macron’s popularity plummeted to 23% in December 2018, at the height of the yellow vest crisis. But compared to April 2022, when he was re-elected as president, his popularity has dropped by 15 percentage points.
Of the 72% who express dissatisfaction with the president, 47% say they are “very dissatisfied,” an increase of seven points.
The survey was conducted online from 14 to 21 April among 1955 people.
