Florida Republican Gov. Ron DeSandis, who faces the Republican presidential nominations ahead of the 2024 election, has announced his first tour outside the United States, and analysts predict he is setting the stage for announcing his presidential candidacy.
In particular, 44-year-old Ron de Sandys is going to visit Japan, Israel, South Korea and the UK, starting from the Land of the Rising Sun, where he will stay on April 24-25.
In the race for the Republican presidential nomination, De Sandys poses the biggest threat to former President Donald Trump, who has already run for office.
His upcoming overseas tour is being promoted in light of the search for business opportunities in his home state of Florida, but many believe the 44-year-old is trying to raise his profile internationally before announcing his candidacy for president.
Japan and South Korea are key US allies in Asia. The United States has more troops stationed in Japan than anywhere else in the world.
Israel is also a “traditional” stop for American presidential candidates, especially Republicans, and the transatlantic “special relationship” makes London an obvious destination.
