Because Massacci really knows what he’s talking about (he gave two notable stage versions of the play Lame Billy) I have little reason to doubt the correctness of the famous director. It is also confirmed by the fact that in 2014 Daily Telegraph ranked McDonagh’s work among the 15 greatest comedies ever written. I think so too Lieutenant of Inishmore has a very good Romanian translation thanks to the already very experienced Bohdan Budes. Who unleashes seemingly low words, knowing full well that they are completely de-semanticized, that is, they have the value that linguists call zero sign.On the other hand, the translator did not make even the slightest concessions to advertising, sly views on the public.
