Watch the performance of Alexis Tsipras in Berlin:
Alexis Tsipras began his presentation by talking about his visits to Berlin in 2015 and 2016, as well as the conditions that prevailed at that time, both in the economy and in the field of refugees.
“I visited this city as prime minister in both 2018 and 2019,” he added, commenting that these were “two completely different periods,” moving on to a report on the government work of the SYRIZA government in the period between the first visit to 2015. and the last one in 2019.
“I also remember that in 2019 I visited Berlin for the last time as Prime Minister, carrying in my luggage the message that chronic international disputes can be resolved peacefully and reciprocally with your neighbors,” Mr. n Tsipras, referring to the Prespon Agreement.
After this memory, Alexis Tsipras returned to the present day. “We have difficult elections ahead of us, but I can’t forget the period that showed through hardship that a progressive government can be different from a conservative government in Europe.”
“Today, we are proud that we were the only government in the post-colonial period that left behind a treaty that did not allow the next government to say that it “took over the chaos,” added the President of SYRIZA, noting that “the country in 2019 had nothing to do with the crumbling country handed over to us in 2015.”
“Today, Greece is called to abandon a policy that twice led it to bankruptcy. In other words, it is designed to leave behind the logic of the client state and corruption in governance. He calls for an end to policies that increase inequality with a massive redistribution of income and wealth. “It is designed to leave behind a period when the rule of law and democracy were brutally violated by a government that controlled more than half of the political system and showed no respect for a free press,” said the President of SYRIZA.
Referring to a simple proportional electoral system, he noted that “the citizens of Greece will be asked to decide which federal government they want to govern them.”
