USA: Russian woman in prison who tried to kill her rescuer with a poisoned cheesecake

Victoria Nasirova, a Russian by birth, was sentenced by a New York court to 21 years in prison for attempted murder of her life partner with a poisoned cheesecake.

A 47-year-old Russian woman has developed a whole scheme of murder and theft of the identity of her beautician and girlfriend Olga Zvik.

assassination attempt

Thus, on August 28, 2016, she set her satanic plan in motion. Nasirova came to the 35-year-old beautician’s home in Queens and treated her to a cheesecake. In fact, she herself ate two pieces, and offered the third poisoned piece to the victim.

Zwick immediately began to vomit and lay down, hallucinating and almost passing out. Finally, a friend found her the next day, only in her underwear and pills scattered on the floor, as if it was an attempted murder.

It turned out that the cheesecake was laced with phenazepam, a strong sedative, and the pills on the floor were made from the same substance.

Also missing from her home were her Ukrainian passport, US work permit, jewelry, and about $4,000 in cash.

Although now Nasirova has recovered greatly, at that time the two women were very similar: both were black-haired, fair-skinned and spoke Russian. Thus, it was considered that the accused intended to kill the victim in order to establish her identity.

Court

Victoria Nasirova was convicted in February of attempted murder, assault and unlawful detention.

Yesterday, the victim spoke in court for the first time, while the size of the sentence was announced by the defendants, who reacted by vulgar abuse of the judge.

β€œIt was easy to steal, it was easy to kill,” Olga Tsvik said before the court announced the sentence of 21 years in prison and five years on parole after Nasirova’s release. In response, she told the judge: “Come on …”.

The prosecutor called Nasirova a “ruthless swindler” and Judge Kenneth Holder described her as an “extremely dangerous woman” hatching a “satanic” plan against her friend.

This is not the first time the 47-year-old Russian woman has appealed to the authorities. In 2015, Interpol sought her arrest for robbery after the murder of her neighbor in Russia a year earlier.

Nasirova is also accused of drug use and stealing from men she met on dating sites.
