
France would like China, as a permanent member of the UN Security Council, to play a “constructive role” in possible consultations to resolve the Ukrainian conflict, Champs Elysees’ diplomatic sources from Paris said today.
According to the same sources, French President Emmanuel Macron made it clear during his recent visits to Beijing that the solution of the Ukrainian issue should be the result of consultations, with absolute respect for international law, the will of the Ukrainian people and with the ultimate goal of ensuring the sovereignty of Ukraine.
The same sources add that Beijing and Paris agreed to consult on this issue during the next meeting of French and Chinese diplomats.which will take place within the framework of the strategic dialogue between the two countries.
