A new video has appeared on social networks, which shows that the Ukrainian military captured in perfect condition KamAZ-63968 “Typhoon-K” – a military vehicle of the Russian army, the production cost of which is 1.5 million dollars.

Although this is not the first Russian car of its kind that the Ukrainian military seized from the Russian occupiers, it is the first that appears to have been seized intact and in near-perfect condition, as if it had just left the factory gates.

The Oryx site, known for tracking losses on both sides of the war in Ukraine, estimated that since the start of the “special forces operation” on February 24 last year, the Russian military has lost 22 KamAZ-63968 “Typhoon-K” vehicles. 4 of them fell into Ukrainian hands.

Created in 2010 and entered service with the Russian Armed Forces only 4 years later, these vehicles are one of the most modern in the Russian army and have constantly participated in military parades held on Red Square in Moscow, as well as in other Russian cities.

KamAZ-63968 “Typhoon-K” is an MRAP (Mine Resistant and Ambush Protected) vehicle, which, depending on the configuration, can transport up to 16 soldiers in combat conditions, in addition to two drivers.

The reasons why such a machine is so expensive to manufacture are related to its complex armoring, which is necessary to withstand explosions and enemy fire, as well as the fact that it is equipped with modern electronic systems that can be used as a control unit.

Such a loss is all the more painful for Russia’s military today, as sanctions imposed by the West and other allies such as Japan have undermined Russia’s ability to import the sophisticated electronic components needed for its newest weapons.
