
Bystrica City Hall says on Tuesday it has blocked access to a special rocking chair for people with disabilities after it was used by non-disabled children who hit each other. Several minors arrived at the hospital with leg injuries, News.ro reported.
“The swing dedicated to people with disabilities in wheelchairs, located in the park “King Mihai I of Romania” since last October, was installed as a result of the implementation of the participation budget project related to the first edition carried out by the municipality in 2021. We clarify once again that the rocking chair is intended exclusively for people with limited possibilities of the musculoskeletal system, which has been marked by warning messages posted since the inauguration,” the city hall of Bystrytsia reported.
The quoted source announced that throughout this period, the people for whom the rocking chair was intended were enjoying it, using it without any risk, in complete safety.
“We regret that there were also cases when children without disabilities, even if they were accompanied by their parents, became victims of unwanted incidents due to non-compliance with the rules for using the device,” representatives of the municipality also stated. sent
They say the rocking chair will be locked until a solution is found so that it can only be used by the people it was intended for.
“Unfortunately, blocking the rocking chair will be done to the detriment of disabled people who used it without problems. We are still concerned about the safety of playgrounds for all children, the municipality intends to create a wider perimeter with leisure facilities for children with disabilities,” the quoted source added.
According to timponline.ro, on the second day of Easter, two minors, 6 and 8 years old, arrived at the hospital with leg injuries, injured by the corresponding rocking chair.
“We are talking about a 6-year-old girl who was diagnosed with a right ankle crushing injury and a fracture of both bones of the right tibia, and an 8-year-old boy who was diagnosed with a left ankle injury and a left tibial bone fracture (…) According to the UPU pediatrician on duty , this spring there were also cases of injuries to children on the corresponding swings, minors received various contusions of the lower limbs”, – the emergency situation of the Bystrytsky district.
