Civil engineer, businessman, race car driver and founder of the Hellenic Automobile Museum Theodoros Kharagionis has died at the age of 75.

Theodoros N. Haragionis, Executive Chairman of the Haragionis Group Companies, was born in Piraeus in 1948 and has been a graduate civil engineer from the National Technical University of Athens since 1971.

The Charagioni Group is a group of family businesses specialized in the investment, development and long-term operation of commercial real estate in the centers of the most important Greek cities, with a focus on Athens, Piraeus and Thessaloniki, in the development and management of car parks and in luxury retail.

His professional experience was complemented by Trade Center University graduate programs in 1987 in Atlanta (GA) and 1988 in San Francisco (CA), business administration in 1996 at Stanford University, Palo Alto (CA), an advanced Real Estate Development and Management and Urban Planning in 2001, 2002, 2003 at Harvard GSD Boston (Massachusetts), where he also worked as an Adjunct Professor and Leadership in 2004 at the London Business School.

He was President of the ICSC (International Council of Shopping Centers) jury, which annually awards the most important shopping centers in Europe. He is a member of the ICSC Europe Advisory Committee and President of the Greek National Committee of the ICSC. He also chairs the Real Estate Investment and Development Association (REAAK) and is a member of ULI (Urban Lands Institute).

He was the founder and president of the Hellenic Automobile Museum – Theodore and Gianna Charagionis Foundation, which is located on an area of ​​​​5000 sq.m in the center of Athens, between the National Archaeological Museum and the Victoria metro station, where 120 historical cars are exhibited, alternating, from triple in number collections.

The Sports Car Owners Association (SISA) states in a Facebook post:

We have been sadly informed that the President of the Hellenic Automobile Museum, Theodoros Haragionis, is no longer with us. Mr. Haragionis was a friend of our club and the winner of the 1st Rally of Greece “24 Hours” in 1998. Have a nice trip, president.

Christina Statakis also emphasizes in her post: “Theodoros Haragionis, a businessman, founder of the Hellenic Automobile Museum and a very good family friend, has passed away. We offer our sincere condolences to Irini and Nikiforos.”
