At the same time, on behalf of Foreign Minister Nikos Dendias, our embassy in Cairo, which has parallel accreditation in Sudan, is in constant contact with the Metropolitan of Nubia, Mr. M. Saturday. By order of the Minister of Foreign Affairs, the crisis management unit of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs was immediately activated, which is in contact and coordination with other EU Member States through the system of consular cooperation. The Crisis Management Unit is also in touch with Metropolitan Savvas.
The main concern at present remains the security of the Greeks in Sudan. It is necessary to comply with what is stated in yesterday’s corresponding order of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. Two wounded Greeks are in the hospital, there is no information about other injured Greeks yet. For everything new, there will be a corresponding update.
