Thousands of Czechs demonstrated in Prague’s central square on Sunday, demanding the resignation of the government amid high inflation and high energy prices, Reuters reported, according to News.ro.

PRO also accused the government of undermining free speech as part of efforts to counter disinformation and called on it to promote peace in Ukraine, denying that it is a pro-Russian party.

“Gather up the last vestiges of honor, realize that you do not meet the standards and resign,” protest organizer and PRO leader Jindrich Reichl said in a speech to a crowd that filled half of Prague’s Wenceslas Square.

The Czech Republic, like other European countries, suffered from rising inflation last year and high energy prices.
