Ciro Immobile, Lazio’s top scorer, tram accident in Rome
According to the first reconstructions, the tram ran into the footballer’s car near the Stadio Olimpico while crossing the Matteotti Bridge, which connects the districts of Flaminio and Prati.
The impact occurred at a fairly high speed: the tram derailed and crossed the sidewalk. The front of Immobile’s SUV, a Land Rover Defender, was destroyed, and other cars were also involved in the accident
“The tram ran through a red light. Fortunately, I’m fine, only my arm hurts a little” – Ciro Real Estatequoted by Gazzetta dello Sport.
Seven people were taken by ambulance to the hospital: Chiro with her daughters (one of them left the scene of the accident wearing a neck collar), several tram passengers and the tram driver (the only one whose condition is more serious).
Several passengers of the tram were also interviewed, but they could not say with certainty that the tram ran a red light.
Immobile has scored 10 goals this season in Serie A. Ciro was the top scorer in 2017/18 (29 goals), 2019/20 (36 goals) and 2021/22 (27 goals).
