
Lionel Richie, Katy Perry and Take That will be part of the line-up for King Charles III’s coronation concert next month, an event organizers are promoting as an opportunity to celebrate a new chapter in Britain’s history, Reuters and AFP reported. The show will be broadcast by the BBC.
The official coronation ceremony for Charles III, who became king following the death of his mother Queen Elizabeth II last September, will take place at Westminster Abbey on Saturday, May 6.
The next day, attention will turn to Windsor Castle in west London, where an audience of 20,000, along with special guests, will attend the coronation concert, which will also be broadcast on television and radio stations.

“To be on stage with other artists at the crown concert is a once in a lifetime event, and it will be an honor and a joy,” said American singer Lionel Richie.
The line-up also includes opera star Andrea Bocelli, singer-songwriter Freya Ridings, Welsh bass-baritone Bryn Terfel and soul songwriter Alexis French.
The list of artists has been announced by the British Broadcasting Corporation (BBC), which will produce and broadcast the show.
In addition, the Coronation Choir, which brings together community choirs and amateur singers from across the UK, will perform alongside the Virtual Choir, made up of singers from across the Commonwealth.
According to the BBC, at the climax of the concert, iconic buildings across the UK will be lit up with projections, lasers, drones and light shows.
