
A special AEGEAN flight free of charge for the Greek government is leaving tomorrow, Holy Saturday, at 6am from Athens to deliver Holy Light from Jerusalem to Greece, sending a message of hope and love.
The plane, due to land around 8:30 am, will board Deputy Foreign Minister Andreas Katsaniotis to attend the Holy Light Touching Ceremony at the Holy Church of the Resurrection, which will take place around 4:30:30 p.m.
The Deputy Foreign Minister will receive the Holy Light from His Beatitude Patriarch Theophilos III of Jerusalem, with whom he will also meet, the Foreign Ministry said in a statement.
Holy Light is expected to arrive at Athens Eleftherios Venizelos Airport at approximately 19:30 on an AEGEAN A320neo aircraft, after which it will be distributed throughout Greece by air.
In particular, AEGEAN and Olympic Air aircraft will deliver the Holy Light to 8 destinations in Greece.

Athens – Chania (A3 344) – departure at 22:35 – arrival at 23:25.
Athens – Samos (OA 3004) (emergency) – Departure 18:30 – Arrival 19:30

Athens – Ioannina (OA 3000) (emergency) – Departure 18:30 – Arrival 19:45
Ioannina – Corfu (OA 3001) (emergency) – Departure 19:55 – Arrival 20:15
Corfu – Kefalonia (OA 3002) (emergency) – Departure 20:25 – Arrival 21:05
The transmission of Light to different parts of Greece will also be carried out by SKY Express aircraft.

In the mission to conduct the ceremony of touching and transferring the Holy Light, in addition to the Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs, Exarch of the Holy Sepulcher in Greece, Archimandrite Raphael, Deputy from New Democracy Maximos Charakopoulos, President of the Inter-Parliamentary Synod of Orthodoxy and members of the Synod: Tanasis Davakis ND MP and Yiannis Sarakiotis SYRIZA MP.
As well as a deputy from the New Republic, Savvas Anastasiadis, chairman of the Committee on Foreign Hellenism of the Parliament and representative of the Holy Synod Theoclitus, Metropolitan of Stagio and Meteora.
